Inventec, Qualcomm Sign 3G Licensing Deal

Following cooperation with China's Datang in developing TD-SCDMA phones, Taiwanese Inventec has reached a 3G license deal with Qualcomm. Under the agreement, Inventec will obtain CDMA 2000 and WCDMA technologies from Qualcomm to develop and manufacture 3G end-devices. Inventec expects to roll out the first WCDMA handset as soon as the second quarter of 2006.
